A senior living community must
provide daily activities for senior residents to maintain a healthy retirement
life. A monthly activity calendar is an essential part of any senior living retirement
community. All activity should help the seniors to maintain and improve their
healthy life. Most senior living communities offers activities like golf tournaments,
guest lectures, theme parties, bridge clubs, happy hours, live concerts,
service projects , outings, art classes, musical classes, and games etc…
Outdoor activities are another important
part of a senior living retirement community. Fishing, gardening and camping
are generally nature activities which gives more fun. Also letterboxing,
sports, photography, and scavenger hunt are some of other outdoor activities for
seniors. Letterboxing is a combines of trekking, camping and treasure hunting. Seniors
must consult with their physicians to do these activities. Seniors can be a
part of playing games like soccer ball and tennis if they have approval from
their physicians.
Most communities have a full-time
employ to handle all activities provided to senior residents. A program
director or activity director has the responsibilities to plan and arrange any
senior community events and generally they are responsible for the marketing
and promotional of the up-coming events. It is easy to promote a senior community
event through a monthly activity calendar or newsletter; also the program directors/managers
can use other Medias like brochures, posters, local TV channels, social
networking sites, advertising programs like adwords, facebook and other means
of communications to promote an event.
Daily and monthly activities will
help senior residents to make their retirement life more beautiful and joyful. Bringing
happiness in the life of a senior citizen is not a small task. It comes when a
caregiver put more love, care, and patience while taking care of the elderly.
